GriffLinc
-
During my internship with Liveworm, I helped to develop the visual identity for GriffLinc, a non-profit initiative led by Griffith University that aims at improving the literacy skills of marginalised children.
My task was to create a brand that kids could enjoy and be proud to be apart of, so establishing an identity with as much relatability as reliability meant stepping into the shoes of the community I was helping to build.

Education and literacy skills are more important than ever, so it was my responsibility to hep craft a brand identity that could reach children without alienating them, which is something that I think quite a few brands are prone to doing. What’s more, it was my first job working with Liveworm, so I couldn’t have been more nervous!

Using my ears as much as my hands was crucial for this project. I reached out to younger people, i.e. the target demographic, for their thoughts, and I found asking questions and listening with care meant I could design clearly and intently. Their guidance meant I could design GriffLinc “for them,” and in no small way, they did too.

The brand package I created for GriffLinc consists of a brand mark, banner and shirt designs, and other supporting visual assets. I am pleased with the aesthetic I created, but even prouder am I to know GriffLinc is already reaching out to marginalised children, and helping make a difference to their reading.
